Now Playing: This Is The Way To Amarilo
Well, that's me with 9.5 working days left at good old Dunedin Canmore before I start my bit of time out and travel. Cannot keep the smug grin off my face. Fairly certain I am annoying most of my colleagues at the moment with the whole casual and blase attitude to everything - very demob happy indeed! Absolutely nothing can put me in a bad mood at the moment even though Neil Utterson is going to try his best with some serious Victor Meldrew behaviour. I look forward with glee to watching him try.
Preparations have begun for the trip round the world. Picked up some brochures at the weekend from STA Travel so have some serious reading to do this weekend and then hope to go in and have a serious chat with the travel lady once I've got a bit more definition to the, at the moment, very vague plan!
My lovely friend Jenni was through at the weekend from sunny Glasgow and she brought me some very helpful gifts to help me on my way. I now possess a miniature globe (on my desk if anyone wants to see) and now know where Kazakhstan is - next to China would you believe! She also got me a Rough Guide to First Time Round the world - have just quickly skimmed a bit about sleeping rough and have decided ideally this is not the glamorous way to go! In addition, I have a wee travel log book and pen (for private thoughts - my eyes only) and an International Phone Card - my Mum says I must stay in touch more than my sister Fee does from Cornwall! But my favourite gift was a Sticker Atlas of The World (only suitable for persons above 36 months) where you can stick cool stickers on the countries when you've seen something exciting. Can't wait to put my first sticker on. Will go to Edinburgh Castle at the weekend just to get started with the first one!! Many thanks, Jenni, I love you very much because you always give me cool stuff, plus you are fabulous and lend me your husband in times of crisis!
Well better get back to work now, while I've still got a job to do! Why is lunchtime the quickest time of the day? And, isn't it terrible about Robin Cook? Live for the day, eh no?
